Program Overview

SDI is designed for a person who desires to enrich his/her spiritual life, to discern whether they have a call to become a spiritual director, and to develop experientially the skills needed for this ministry.  Our SDI program meets the needs of the Roman Catholic and larger Christian community in Indianapolis, Indiana and the surrounding area.

The Benedict Inn Retreat & Conference Center has been preparing women and men for the ministry of spiritual direction since 1991. SDI is an ecumenical program based on Saint Benedict's words, Listen with the ear of your heart. We believe in tending to the movement of the Spirit, using evocative listening, and being non-directive. We especially believe that this call to ministry arises as an individual response to God.
